MINDFULNESS-BASED RELAPSE PREVENTION
Mindfulness-Based Sobriety
Mallard Lake has taken an integrative approach to addiction recovery using a mindfulness-based therapy, motivational interviewing, and relapse prevention therapy. Mindfulness-based therapy is highly effective in treating emotional dysregulation, stress, depression, and grief-all emotions associated with addiction. Motivational interviewing is effective in the treatment of addiction because it helps to change the behaviors that supports active addiction. Relapse prevention therapy focus on anticipation and coping with potential relapse. Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention combines all three of these highly effective treatments. Individuals with substance use disorders achieve sobriety only to relapse and view the relapse as evidence of personal failure and inadequacy. Often the internal messages created by a relapse justify the continual usage of a substance creating more problems. At Mallard Lake we specialize in the treatment of relapse prevention and recovery planning. Our methodology comprises of evaluating the patterns of relapse from a biological physiological and social viewpoint. We create a treatment plan based on the origin of addictive patterns, personal risk factors and patterns associated with addiction cycles and relapse cycles.
